Do you need a referral?
You don't require a referral to book an initial appointment with Southern Sydney Voice Therapy. However, you may be eligible for a referral under a GP Chronic Conditions Management Plan (click here for further information). If you have a referral please send us a copy or bring it along to your first appointment.
Voice disorder concerns
We recommend you visit an Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon specialising in laryngeal disorders (Laryngologist) for imaging of your larynx (voice box), preferably with stroboscopy (allows visualisation of the vocal fold wave). You may book an initial appointment with us prior to visiting an ENT; however, we may recommend an appointment with an ENT for diagnosis. Please ask your ENT to send us the report or bring it along to your appointment with us.
Cough and breathing concerns
For cough and respiratory concerns we strongly recommend you visit an ENT and/or respiratory specialist for assessment to determine underlying cause and advise on best management options. Please bring referrals/reports from ENTS and/or respiratory specialists concerning laryngeal imaging, respiratory or other related tests.
